The first buildings were constructed in 1994.  Barry Topple, the current owner and director, purchased the property in 1996.  He then embarked on further development, which included the 9 hole golf course and the dedicated Conference Centre which was completed in 2001.  Barry also constructed 3 new accommodation blocks totalling 24 new rooms.

The Australis Retreat at Wisemans is a member of Hills Chamber of Commerce, Central Coast Tourism, HAART (Hills, Hawkesbury & Riverlands Tourism).
