Tallwood Golf Course
At Tallwoods you experience a round of golf which, in the words of Tom Ramsey, involves \//A collection of holes that are challenging and stimulating – all difficult but not impossible always exciting and always individual.\//
The course was designed by Dr Michael Hurdzan, winner of the 2002 Donald A Rossi award by the Golf Course Builders Association of America and Golf World Magazine\//s \//Architect of the year\// in 1997.
The involvement of Hurdzan, one of the world\//s leading environmental golf course designers, is ever-present in the majestic eucalypts, prolific native vegetation and extensive water features evident throughout the course.

Whale Watching
June, July and early August sees the northern migration of the Humpback Whales. These gentle giants of the deep swim past Forster/Tuncurry on route to the warmer water off the Queensland coast to breed and give birth to their calves. An estimated 8000 Humpback Whales made the northern migration in 2010.
From July to September we also frequently encounter Southern Right Whales, Minke Whales and Bryde\//s Whales along with a variety of sea birds includingg Yellow Nosed Albatross and Wild Gannets. Dolphins are generally sighted on our whale watch cruises as well.
Mid September to early December the mighty Humpback Whales return to our waters with their young. During this southern migration it\//s not uncommon to encounter the Humpback Whales very close to shore, resting, feeding and playing with their calves.
100% Whale Guarantee
Whale Watch Cruises Forster (Amaroo Cruises) offers a 100% WHALE GUARANTEE during the southern migration. If no whales are sighted on your cruise then a free return ticket will be issued (conditions apply).
Cassegrain Winery
Our winemaking heritage began in France in 1643. A heritage of French winemaking skills combined with Australian technology is practised today by John Cassegrain, using that â??savoir faireâ?? (the know how), to produce a wide range of Premium, Reserve and Limited Release wines that are full flavoured, yet soft and elegant.
Cassegrainâ??s Cellar Door is open seven days a week, from 9am to 5pm, with a complete range of wines for tasting, along with the new Wine Attic which offers a stunning range of both Australian and International wines.
The Cassegrain Winery is the ideal setting for all occasions, from a romantic wedding to a casual picnic, featuring extensive grounds, a formal garden with picnic areas and boasting over 2000 stunning rose bushes lining the entrance to the winery. The sweeping lawns of the Oval, set within the vineyards, forms a natural amphitheatre where a number of concerts are held each year.

Dolphin Watching
There is approximately 250-300 resident inshore Bottle-Nosed Dolphins inhabiting the waters of Forster/Tuncurry. These local Dolphins are our pride and joy and seem to be as interested in our vessel \”The Amaroo\” as we are in them. They will often come over to the boat on what we call \”Human Watch\”, where they check out whose on board today!
Further offshore we encounter Common Dolphins, sometimes massing in the hundreds all as one pod. Quite a spectacle to say the least!
